Vastadon Lab was the final launch map I worked on for Concord. This was a quicker turn around then previous maps, and involved some creative re-use of existing map kits. For this one we combined BoneMines with a bit of WaterHazard for the Lab.
My responsibilities was similar to the previous maps, managing asset work, Creating assets/materials/kits, liaising with other departments, Set dressing, bug fixing and optimisations. We also played a stronger role in the pre-production on this map, working with concept and narrative earlier on to help shape the map before we started production.
My main area of work for this map was the Lab building, the interior of which was an all new kit, Building out the exterior, along with some new grooved rock assets to give a different flavour to BoneMines.
We managed to finish this map in less time then needed, with a smaller team also.
